I'm in the process if checking out at newegg so prompt attention is GREATLY appreciated! They have AMD 1.4 OEM (AYHJA) and they also have retail box version, which one should I get? BTW, this is my very first pc build, I'm gonna need some help!
Thanks, Jamie

OEM = 90 day warranty and white box
Retail = 3 year (usually) retail box and packaging + higher cost
If you are planning to overclock, might as well get the cheaper once, since oc'ing invalidates your warranty. Also if a cpu goes bad it usually does so from the start, not over time.
I always buy OEM cpus.

OEM!! and buy a good heatsink. The heatsink/fan that comes with the retail is a pile of *****. My cousin bought the retail and his processor temp is above 60C idle!!!

I've purchased both OEM and retail. I like Retail because of the warranty and it has a heatsink and fan included. However I agree that if you want to overclock then go wtih OEM.
I guess it's too late now... but the retail CPU comes with a cool AMD or Intel sticker that you can put on your case. All the chicks dig it :)
OEM warranty is whatever the seller wants to give you! Maybe you get no warranty. Retail is warranted by the manufacturer and comes with a fan.
I usually buy retail...........

DanU forgot to tell you that those cool stickers also make your machine run faster. Kinda like a "speed stripe."

Knight's right,( sticker ) gave me 200 more mhz. Put a racing stripe on my truck and got 25 more horsepower. Don't ask me how, but it works;)
