Click to See Complete Forum and Search --> : Identifing 72 pin memory
I've a handfull of 72 pin simms that I can't identify as FPM or EDO. Do I check the chip markings on the chip manufacturers' sites? Is there a site that will point me from the chip markings to the chip manufacturer?
Thanks for any help you can give me!

This link was posted yesterday here somewhere.
The deal on the EDO/FPM will get ya in trouble.
Working for FREE, as usual, on a dudes Compaqulock win95, put in some 72 pin memory.
The machine NEVER booted again, till a format/reinstall the os.
Way down the road after several attempts to load the os, I noticed the little box you get when adding software in Win95, the one with the stop sign was at minimum, I thought well, just this ol Compaq.
Wrong, too out the edo, left the 8mb of FPM in and the system resources went way up.
lotsa luck

If you can't find what you're looking for there, go to the Links Page of my site (http://home.earthlink.net/~chinmonster) . I've gathered a few URLs that you might find useful in the RAM section.

Go to the same site I posted. There's a japanese URL in there (can't think of it off the top of my head) that has a user submitted database of various memory sticks and how high people have taken them. You might find what you're looking for there.

I took out the all pretty graphics and javascripts a long time ago. People were complaining that it took too long to load.
You guys are awesome!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks (once again) for the help.
