What is the difference between Linux, Unix, and Windows? Also, it Windows a true operating system since it runs off of DOS? Is Linux good to learn for a beginner wanting to go into computers?

Guess it comes down to what you want to learn. Linux is a version of UNIX. UNIX has a large number of flavors.
