Lost Netscape user profile

I recently upgraded my Netscape Communicator from 4.5 to 4.72. Somehow, in the process, I have lost my user profile. I dumped the 4.72 and went back to the 4.5... searched everywhere for my profile and have not found it. I was easily able to create a second user profile, but I desperately need my bookmarks which were stored within my original one. I searched under "files and folders" for "bookmarks" and did not find it. I'm told that it's in there somewhere. Can someone give me a clue on where to look? (Please don't tell me I should've had them backed up... I've obviously learned that the hard way. I have a backup saved of my bookmarks but there were many important bookmarks I had saved since then.)

Did you try a search for "bookmark.htm" or a *book*.* ? If it's there, it'll find it for you.

I HATE when that happens!!! As Gutter Ball says, check all drives first. There may be a duplicate folder of Netscape that has your originals. Hope so. Good Luck!

It worked!!! Thankyou GutterBall!!! I ran the search for "*book*.*" and finally found my bookmarks. Never did find my address book, but that's not too big a deal since I have most of those addresses elsewhere. Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou!!!!! :-)
