Outlook Express banner ad fix ????????????????

I had a problem with 5.0 and had to download 5.5, anyways now I stuck with the stupid banner ad for hotmail. I remember there was a fix for this, if anybody has done it let me know. I believe it had something to do with a .dll or something ???


PS: Also the little Icon has changed, I tried to change it but even after I turn off the read only it still won't change the Icon.

Used to be that you could put a previous version of msoeacct.dll into the
C:\Windows\system folder and get rid of add banner, but I have not been able to get it to work for OE 5.5. I have tried several different versions and either get errors or OE stops working.

On my second system, (the one I use to check hotmail on OE). Version 5.00.2615.200 of msoeacct.dll used with Outlook Express 5.01 prevents the silly add banner. For that system when downloading IE 5.5, I choose the option "browser only" to keep OE from upgrading.
