When I bring up the main Plextor MVP2000 screen to build a recording playlist on writer(F), the software says I have a "invalid pointer operation", and goes dead. It may have something to do with a cd-player location assignment conflict, but not sure. It's pointing to D:\plextor2000\m2k.exe target. I've contacted Plextor support, but nothing yet.

Another, if I load a cd in the cd-rom, it plays with the Gateway/Voyetra/Audiostation cd player(which I assume is the default). When the Voyetra/Audiostation player bar pops up and starts playing the cd, it's pointing to
C:\VOYETRA\AS2\CDPLAY.EXE. But, when I check the accessories/multimedia/cd player it's pointing to C:\WINDOWS\CDPLAYER.EXE.
Is there anyway I can change or manipulate the default cd player, and do you have any idea why I''m getting the invalid pointer??

To make a long story short, things were fine until I loaded the Plextor software on.

Thanks.

You should go to Programs/Plex. 2000/MVP2000-when the player comes up,in the upper left corner of the player are 2 buttons, push the right- (silver)-button,there you can set player and recorder defaults and stop the splash screen. In each different mode of Plex. Manager, you set defaults, there is no *master default* that encompasses the different tools.(Disk Dupe,Audio Capture & MVP). IMHO -It's great burning software. Make sure you go to the Plextor site and get the update for the Plexmanager software, and new firmware for the burner.

Great info and I never would have known it. It makes sense, and sounds like you can customize a little.
However, when I bring up MVP it pops up the "invalid pointer operaton" error before I can get to the options button. Any idea how I can get around it. I'm downloading the updates now and hopefully it will clear a few things up.
Also, how do I find the aspi version? I can find everything else but that.

Thanks.

Skip the above post. I upgraded all the software and it's runnig fine now. Had a little problem with the aspi update, but Plextor sent me a special install app and I should be current now. Thanks folks. Jim.
