I think it's so you will know when/if a thread you're interested in gets posted in. Could be useful :)

I just tried it and it puts the subscribed forum in your user cp. I spose it could be good for people who use the private messaging a lot.

This is new technology with a lot of new features. These people put a lot of work into providing this for us. Learn it and ask questions if you dont understand. I personally love it.
