I had a problem with my hard drive recently although I have already sorted it I was interested in others approach.

My main hard drive is a fujitsu 8.4Gb H/D and while installing a piece of software I noticed that the amount of drive space I had available was significantly less than what it should be.

I knew what had happened, the hard drive in a recent reformat (I love to start afresh) had not been formatted in FAT32.

No problem I thought I will just save all my important stuff and use the win98 boot disk to reformat it.

But to no avail it just formatted the hard drive the same so I got connected to the internet went onto the fujitsu web site and downloaded a disk master software. This enabled me to create a program on floppy to finally sort out my hard drive into the correct amount of space.

I am sure I could have done this from the win98 disk but like with most microsoft stuff they don't make things easy.

Hi Orkboss

I'm not using Win98 anymore, but it includes a Convert to FAT32 feature that can be used from Windows. I think it's called Drive Converter Wizard.

I used it long ago, and it did work flawlessly.

Yup...

Start -> Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools -> Drive Converter (FAT32)

Yes Mr Brandon, I know where the Fat 32 converter is on win98, but this would not have helped me at the time as my hard drive was already full of stuff which needed to be cleared before I could regain the large amount of drivespace that I no longer had.

And as Win98 was also on the hard drive that had to go as well.
