Here I used to get on line at 26,400 or 19,800 or 14,400 , Pitiful..

Today came in and got on and LOOK OUT, 49,333 , naaaa gotta be a fluke I said.

So I tripped that one off line and got the NEC up and NO KIDDING, 45,333 GET BACK.

Yeah, once you get in the habit of using cable or DSL lines, you will wonder to yourself how you ever used 56K modems! http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif And with the price drop in using cable modem monthly, I think it is very much worth the money.

Sorry, voogru, that Image was way too big and it took quite awhile for even *me* to download on my DSL. You can try cropping down to just the gauge itself and see if this page loads faster. -Socalgal

Rampage, I didn't do anything.
Just left yesterday going to the farm and saw the phone company working in a junction box. NO big deal.

Came home and VIOLA !!

To the rest, at work we have a T1 line, from regular sites I can download from 50-75k/sec.

Thats DOWNLOAD, now Surfing is a different matter entirely.

At work page loading is sometimes SLOWER than here NOW with the improvement in connection. I said sometimes, it is usually slower than this. Don't know if it has something to do with it being a server system or that I'm using the last of a hundred Dell 166's that's completely worn out.

It's aways a pleasant surprise to get a very measurable improvement from your 'puter -- I mean most folks go to great pains to OC their machine for an extra 200MHz. You have netted yourself an OC'd phone line without having to lift a finger.
