I just installed Mandrake 8.1 and I'm a linux newbie. Which detonator drivers should I download from NVidia's website? I've tried the Mandrake 8 nvidia kernel, but I get this error:
<tt/programs/NVIDIA_kernel-1.0-1512.mdk80up.i386.rpm;echo RESULT=$?
error: failed dependencies:
kernel = 2.4.3-20mdk is needed by NVIDIA_kernel-1.0-1512.mdk80up
RESULT=1

and when i install the GLX, I get a message about needing the kernel. Which combination of kernel and GLX should I use?

You could get the tar files (Systems which do not use RPMS for package management) or the "Any RPM-based system with an upgraded / customized / non-default kernel" files until they come out with a native Mandrake 8.1 file.

hello,
when you install you will also want to install kernel source and headers - they should be on the install disks.

And how would I do that post-install?
