I agree with you Scott. The Terrorist win if we just stand-still and do not continue on. No, we do not forget what happened and we do not let them get away with it, but we can't just stop. The Country must continue to move on.

I agree wholeheartedly. My mind is already getting numb from being bombarded with news. I want to get back to my normal life as much as possible.
I'm eagerly waiting for baseball to start back up.

I agree, as all members will note that SysOpt has moved forward with publication of news and articles during these trying times. We will always remember these events, but life must proceed to prove that terrorists will never be able to overcome our way of life.
Thanks, and best regards.

I understand your points, and do not disagree. However, I for one am not ready to move on. I think members of the SysOpt community need each others support in this crisis.
I hope that my "community" posts are not unwelcome. I am not just here getting things off my chest, I am actually trying to help people. Mod's, Rob, Scott, feel free to let me know if you need me to cool it.
I feel "at home" here like I've felt in no other forum. Any time other than now I'd rather talk about 'puters than current events. Right now, I just can't. I think some of us may need more time than others to mourn and heal.

Please take no offense.
We are not ready to move on. We cannot move on. This attack was not meant to stop us dead in out tracks. This attack is an attempt to start a Jihad - holy war - against us. You can go on your business and pretend nothing happened, but I was on the phone trying to track down family members tuesday. Thank god they're alive. Take this seriously, stop dead in your tracks, and stare in wonder at this. These men who did this were not young single zealots. Some of these men were old, and had children. These men had good jobs and college education. They had rich parents. This is more than you want to see. Maybe if this comes to your hometowns, you'll take it more seriously.
Be fearful of whats to come. There will be retaliatory strike attrempts against us when we dish out the punishment. The pakastanis have nuclear weapons, and aren't exactly fond of allying themselves with us. Do you have any family in the military? Would you trust the Pakistan government with their lives? Essentially that will happen, if we station there.
Osama Bin Laudin was a mujihideen - holy warrior - trained by the CIA. That's right, we trained him and gave him weapons back in the 80's to fight off the Russians. And keep in mind the Mujahideen have never been beaten in history.
Again I say, stop; stop and stare. And think too. I'd bet the monsters who did this are thinking. I'd bet they were thinking about this one for years. Are you a target?

No one is trying to pretend that nothing happened. We're all intimately aware of the magitude of this situation. If we don't try to return to some sense of normalcy and continue running this country, our nation will fail completely and entirely. Our economy will fail, businesses will fail (including the airlines). We must mourn, but we must survive and not crawl into a hole in the ground. I'm glad your family is safe.
BTW, Canter Fitzgerald, a bond trading firm on one of the top floors of the WTC, lost 700 (out of about 1,000 total I believe) employees. The CEO didn't want to open for business last week but the remaining employees insisted - they said that they wanted to be strong for the country. If a company that lost 70% of its workforce wants to keep going, I think we all can learn from that.

I agree that both news sorts shouhld be posted. A reason? How about the day of the attack. Many members were at work and could not get t a TV and the offici9al news portals were jammed with visitors. Many people could not access any news.

About 1 month ago a whale attacked a ship off the coast of Mass.. The sharks have been eating people off our eastern coast. What is going on here? Whales never attack ships...
Well, chemical conspiracies aside (with Gulf War Syndrome theories) I ask what's going on here?
Pakistan cannot be trusted. All I hope is that Bin Laden is not handed over. People are more equipped to fight a war against a tangible target than an Idea like terrorism.
Nukes
Biological Weapons
Chemical Weapons
Hindsight is always 20/20, but looking back, it's still a bit fuzzy.
Jihad, Jihad, Jihad!
God Jehova save us. Muslims call Jesus Messiah. God Jehovallah save us from ourselves and what we are capable of doing to each other...
