 I bought an used QDI Legend V board with 440LX chip set. I plug in a Celeron 400, 64MB PC100 SDRAM, PCI video card and FDD. The board won't boot, no display and no beep. I removed the SDRAM, still won't boo, no display but continue long beeps. Do I have a dead board? Do I have to upgrade the BIOS to support Celeron 400? Any advice will be appreciated.

check with your board's website for compatibility issues w/ processors. are there jumpers (since you said the board is old)
on the motherboard that have to be set to coincide with your
processor???
long beeps i believe are memory issues. is the fan spinning for the power supply?? if so, and you get beep codes like you said, its most likely not a power issue.
if you know the video card and memory are good, just boot with that and the processor. if you get nothing but the fans spinning, its most likely a motherboard issue. good luck
might want to try resetting your cmos as well.

The RAM and display cards are good. I checked them with another PC.
I powered up with only the CPU, ISA display card and 64MB SDRAM. There were no beep codes nor display on screen.
I put the jumper to clear CMOS for 10 minutes and then replace the jumper to "normal". I powered up the motherboard but still no beep code nor display.
Looks like I got a dead motherboard.
