I'm using MSN for my internet server and thay told me I need to use client for MSN networks to operate in thair system correctly. When I use it I get A password protect for networks to start windows. What I would like to know is can I use this password to keep peaple out of my system and how to work it and if not how to stop it from comeing up. At this time I just say cancel and continue. I'm using Win 98SE. Any help I thank you for.

You can go back to the area you turned it on at and make the other windows login the primary. (sorry, doing this from memory as I don't have a 98 box anywhere handy.) Windows 98 password login is a joke. You can cancel by it, do a search for the name displayed, delete the password file, and start all over with that login. Put a screensaver password on and load that. Takes a somewhat knowledgeable person to get around it.

micrososft client for networking would be something you could use if you had a network set up at your house, job, etc. it has nothing to do with your internet provider. to get rid of it from popping up at bootup go to "network neighborhood" and right click on it and go to "properties" then you will see a drop down box which has
the micrososft client in there as the logon. drop that box down and change it to "windows logon" and that should clear up your issue. if not there there are other ways. that is just the simplest way and it usually works. post back to say is that worked. i'll be checking.

I forget the name of te program. It's like PCPadlock or something like that. It makes registry changes that get rid of the cancel button on that login screen so you have to input a password. It also disable the ctl-esc, of whatever the keys are, way of closing the box. Try looking it up on www.download.com
