why is it that people are only willing to mention prayer in anyway in times like this? Most people are so against it that they will go out of their way to get public prayer reduced to nothing, but when something like this happens, all the news stations and everyone says to send your prayers out to the people involved... I work in Washington DC in the Ronald Reagan building. From what I understand, this building is third on the terrorist hit list. So, when people in my building heard the National Trade Center in NYC had been hit (number one on the list), they were concerned. When we found out the Pentagon was hit (number two on the list), everyone just started getting up and leaving. Nobody asked if it was OK. I mean people were just getting up and going home.

I could see the smoke from the Pentagon as I walked to the Metro. There were sirens everywhere. Hardly anyone could get through on a cell phone to call their love ones. I'm glad to be home. As I am writing this, I’m trying to get through to family in western Pennsylvania but all circuits are busy.

It’s a sad day. People are dead. It felt unreal.

I read this topic thread and it sounds like some people are trying to blame the President and others around him for their actions in whatever war or decision they made.

Here's a new twist what would you think if that happened to you! What would you do? Who would you blame? They are not attacking one person they are attacking all the free countries where we don't go shooting our neighbors because we were taught to hate them. We have evolved to accept people for what they are PEOPLE.

This is not just going to affect the US it is going to affect ALL of us no matter where you live.

This is a sad day indeed because of one radical person bent on revenge religion or whatever countless lives are lost.

1st, you brodcast how strong your building is (It can take a direct hit from a boeing 707 and this was published) it doesn't take a genius to get something a bit bigger. and you even gave them an idea technically. You arrogantly offer tours of the white house and other major defence structures, you brodcast how defence structures are built, and what strength they are, And what thier weaknesses are, even your nuclear facilities. Whereas most find this interesting, why don't you send a blueprint to every major terrorst group, or maybe just post them on the web.

2nd, You broadcast everything live on CNN, oh look there's the president walking behind the whitehouse on the south side where he always lands when coming from Whatever Airforce base. With a single statement you've given them enough to set up snipers in low tension times. Set up anti aircraft missles all the way along the flight path. one crisis and boom you know his start and destination.

America's leading problem is the media. they brodcast how the stealth is made out of arrogance thinking that no one can figure out how to find it. Radar was developed to detect things further then you can see when missles could be launched Without opponents seeing, InfraRed was used for thermal signatures behind the planes. The cold war still roars, there just aren't any opponents. You compete with yourselves to beat yourselves, you invent a plane that can't be detected by normal means, then try to develop a way to find it, then brodcast that.

Anyway, too much of a Rant.

My heart is with all that have suffered losses in this very tragic event. There is no reason for innocent people to be dragged into a political issue (If it's even that)and there is no excuse for a deliberate attack on heavily civilian populations during thier busiest times. It disgusts me.

The main thing in this discussion that actually bothered me is is the guy telling others they just earned a seat in hell. I'm athiest my self, but okay let me say this "Judge not lest ye be judged." The 11th of September 2001. Remember this date, because (unfortunately) it is going to be a date that will be in history books forever. As my (future) children are going to read that very same historybook, I want them to read not about the start of wotld war three, but instead about the worlds most powerful nation showing that it will be able to control itself in a difficult time. The Middle East is a dangerous place to be operating in, and if you're not smooth about what you are doing, the arab world is going to unite as one, and we'll have a major WW on our hands. What I DO NOT WANT TO SEE is that the US will sink to that low LOW LOW level of killing civilians in order to get their point across. I know there is a lot of people out there full of hatred right now. That is very understandible. I would have wanted to KILL KILL KILL if I had lost someone I loved. First of all my prayers are out to all of the families that were effected by the terrorist acts. I believe that the United States has eluded the terrorist threat long enough. There was a time when terrorists knew not to attack the US. As we have seen today and in the past that train of thought has been lost. All of the emergency personnel that went it after the first plane hit are unaccounted for. Who's going to replace them right now?

The pentagon still burns at this very moment (~3:30p.m.EST). They're flying sorties over it and every military base with planes armed to the teeth with missles. Every military base in Georgia is on threatcon Delta, meaning no one leaves, no one comes, not even any phone calls or emails.
