Thank George W Bush for aggrevating the situation by his European tour couple months ago and pissing off the mid east countries with his defense strategies...stupid moron needs to be impeached for incompetency. just an opinion...no offense to Bush supporters. jokostel 09-11-2001, 09:47 AM there is only 2 poeple in the world to do this kinda of thing Itsam Bin Ladden, and Saddam... my bro-in -laws father worked in the pentagon with computer systems as well... lets pray for all of them.... http://www.sysopt.com/news/gws/cdata/frown.gif jokostel kenyg 09-11-2001, 09:50 AM This is not the time to point fingers. My prayers go out to all involved. What do Bush's defense stategies have to do with it? If anything, this shows the need for improving defenses. Both towers are down. Probably tens of thousands of lives lost. Whoever did this, had better kiss their @$$ goodbye. God help us. Tim Lemon 09-11-2001, 10:00 AM I fear that a lot of people have died today and I fear that a lot more will die soon. falcompsx 09-11-2001, 10:06 AM why is it that people are only willing to mention prayer in anyway in times like this? Most people are so against it that they will go out of their way to get public prayer reduced to nothing, but when something like this happens, all the news stations and everyone says to send your prayers out to the people involved... Is it just me or is there a conflict of attitude here? I think people need to be more consistent. I'm not slamming ANYONE here at sysopt, or anyone in general. i'm just observing the state of my nation's attutude towards religion(U.S. that is) I'm also not trying to make lite of the situation here. this is truely a tragedy and hopefully we will find out who is responsible for this. I'm NOT pointing fingers at anyone, because i dont' know, no one knows for sure right now. BBA 09-11-2001, 10:08 AM ojerkules...SHUT UP! If you think it took Pearl Harbour to get the US pissed...this is more than suficient. Someone will pay dearly. Idiots. What the heck are they thinking? Look at this: GB Sr. is the man who successfully invaded more foreign countries than any other president...and now they want to **** off his son? Morons. Get ready for lots of action and violance. DiscoLando 09-11-2001, 10:09 AM Whomever is responsible for these acts will find out just how strong and intelligent we are as a nation. We've taken a big blow, but we're still standing. I wouldn't be so sure of those who are responsible. kenyg 09-11-2001, 10:11 AM I pray everyday. As do many people I know. Unfortunatly, (or fortunalty) events like this bring us together as a society. As did Pearl Harbor, JFK, Challenger - Ken NoCtrl 09-11-2001, 10:15 AM I work in Washington DC in the Ronald Reagan building. From what I understand, this building is third on the terrorist hit list. So, when people in my building heard the National Trade Center in NYC had been hit (number one on the list), they were concerned. When we found out the Pentagon was hit (number two on the list), everyone just started getting up and leaving. Nobody asked if it was OK. I mean people were just getting up and going home. I could see the smoke from the Pentagon as I walked to the Metro. There were sirens everywhere. Hardly anyone could get through on a cell phone to call their love ones. I'm glad to be home. As I am writing this, I’m trying to get through to family in western Pennsylvania but all circuits are busy. It’s a sad day. People are dead. It felt unreal. [This message has been edited by NoCtrl (edited 09-11-2001).] Cruez 09-11-2001, 10:41 AM I would really hate to be the ones who were responsible for this one.. As far as the attacks go...this is what starts wars.. Whoever it was...their day is coming, you can pretty much guarantee that.. Jav 09-11-2001, 12:01 PM My aunt worked in 2 World Trade Center, thank god she was late for work today, she watched the second airliner hit the building she works in from her balcony Dear god... n715dp 09-11-2001, 12:25 PM ojerkules... thank you for showing your stupidity. You MUST be absolutly correct as you MUST be a genius on international affairs, it is all G.W. Bush's fault, please lets rip the government apart at a time like this... how much Crack did you smoke today? You moron. Wombat 09-11-2001, 12:30 PM My heart is saddened by what has happened. My co worker lost two family members today, They where on the 80th floor in one of the towers. May they rest in peace. God bless everyone. Exter 09-11-2001, 12:54 PM sorry to say this (im dutch" but the plans for the defence dystem Bush want, really pissed the europeans off, because obviously that could start another cold war! all other countrys would be needing a defence system too, then US builds better, then the rest builds better, etc etc etc, just like the cold war. if Bush is clever he will use his mind instead of wiping out the mid east with nukes, hes really a man to do that. (just like in Texas, the executions) You guys should have voted Gore. MrFreeze 09-11-2001, 02:26 PM and here we are... fighting again, but now online... tnx guys, MrFreeze Exter 09-11-2001, 02:42 PM IF that missile defence system works, the nucleuar country's IF they ever want to attack america, will feel bad because they thought they had power with theire nukes, now have to build even better and more weapons: that is thesame as the cold war! PS, dont think I hate america, and I also understand the economicakl consequenses, they suck! and also my condolences for all the dead. PS2, I still hope the US will not overreact, but react. Exter 09-11-2001, 02:44 PM I believe it is a result of UN/NATO actions against Iraq. You know...the actions not controlled by the US. not controled by US??? US has a lot to say in the UN/NATO if you didnt noticed. BBA 09-11-2001, 03:10 PM Yea...and your country didn't like it when the US saved your **** in WW2? Ask your father. In other words...it's not a good day for criticism, so shut the @#&& up! Darknyt 09-11-2001, 03:57 PM DANG BBA!!!! Calm down man, we all know the real deal here. Exter still has a right to an opinion(EVEN THOUGH HE'S DEAD WRONG!!!!), as well as the rest of us. Whether or not people got pi$$'d over Bush's defense plan isnt the issue. What is paramount now is WHEN ARE WE GOING TO BRACE THESE PUKES AND HAND OUT SOME GRADE "A" WOOP A** ????? (Sorry for cursing SysOpt) Oh yeah.....and Exter, BBA is right....we did bail you guys out in WW2. "We wont even allow them the marshall dignity of a firing squad" - Raul Julia Street Fighter: The Movie MTAtech 09-11-2001, 04:08 PM Hey guys, I wish you would calm this down a bit. I WAS THERE. I saw the fire in the first tower, I saw the 2nd plane hit and both towers fall. The news TV did not show the torn bodies. People jumped out of windows from high stories. The discussion on the missle defense has a place - but not now. pbharris 09-11-2001, 04:15 PM Lets clean up and help those who need it. Like BBA said it is not the time for critism. drlabel 09-11-2001, 04:20 PM You Americans think that you are the owners of the world but you are not, what’s happened today is not good to any one, but you Americans was asking for it... You are always putting your nose in every thing, and to help some one you always f..k the others. Good bless all the ppl that have died today L is a sad day to the world… MTAtech 09-11-2001, 04:23 PM drlabel, those people were not asking for some madmen to hijack a plane and hurl it into their workplace. This is unacceptable international behavior and an act of war. It is unconvincing when you use terms like 'put you nose everywhere' instead of specifics. Where do you mean? [This message has been edited by MTAtech (edited 09-11-2001).] jazzy2323 09-11-2001, 04:26 PM what if this was planed by isreal to make it look like a terrorists attack, so that we would take part in winning their war for them drlabel 09-11-2001, 04:39 PM “What if this was planed by Israel to make it look like a terrorists attack, so that we would take part in winning their war for them” This is what I said you Americans don’t have to do nothing if they want there countries in war let them they are crazy don’t put your nose in that, they don’t deserve any thing they destroy all the things that are good in the world. Today they destroy a lit of the American ppl tomorrow will be Europe and in the future the world. He need peace not war… Jeffy 09-11-2001, 04:59 PM WHAT THE HELL is wrong with the youth in America! I go to a high school on the western seaboard. The pple in my high school hardly care about any of this. They say, oh it's 3000 miles away so they don't care. OMG! We do watch all the news in class, but some curse George Bush and most take it almost like a normal day. That is the weakness of our country today. TechDude 09-11-2001, 04:59 PM Sorry to say this, but i agree with drlabel. Even though i live in the US and stuff, I seriously do not think the US should be getting involved with everything even if we are in no danger. For example, the Isrealies and the other contry are fighting, what does the US do? We help the isreals! In vietnam, they were fighting. And what does the US do? We help north viatnam! And if i looked, i could find a lot more fights that the US sunndely dicedid to get involve with, for no apparent reason. If the other contrys battles/wars do not involve any nuclear or biological weapons, then I say, we should let them fight. Jeffy 09-11-2001, 05:10 PM Wut techDUDE? The United States may be pushing capitolism too hard around the world, but that doesn't give these terroists the rite to kill innocent pple. Capitolism doesn't kill ne one. the united states is the world's police. it tries to keep peace, that's why they favor the countries, such as israel n SOUTH vietnam, they believe is rite to maintain a good peace. EvilleR 09-11-2001, 05:15 PM You people have all lost the plot - go home and spend time with your families, your friends. Because you never know if today may be your last. May all the rescue workers find people alive in this tragedy, but who will rescue the rescuers? I am not from the US, but I hope that all US citizens rally together and support each other. This is a test for all people, all races, all creeds and all colours. Be safe. the xenon 09-11-2001, 05:45 PM I hope that our government does the right steps in solving this situation, personaly i want reveng but it might not be the correct answer. And whats worse is that the wrong actions might lead us to war which will in fact cause even more sufferings. God bless us all Darknyt 09-11-2001, 05:47 PM Drlabel.....that remark you made was unnecessary!!!!! If those planes where carrying any of your family members or friends, you would'nt be talking all that BS. Think first before you let garbage out of your mouth, otherwise, put a brace on it you puke!!!!! And how on earth are you gonna say "God bless the ppl that died today...." after saying that we(they) deserved this. Man....that post alone earned you a seat right next to satan. Enjoy the eternal flames jacka$$. [This message has been edited by Darknyt (edited 09-11-2001).] Bones1 09-11-2001, 07:11 PM I read this topic thread and it sounds like some people are trying to blame the President and others around him for their actions in whatever war or decision they made. Here's a new twist what would you think if that happened to you! What would you do? Who would you blame? They are not attacking one person they are attacking all the free countries where we don't go shooting our neighbors because we were taught to hate them. We have evolved to accept people for what they are PEOPLE. This is not just going to affect the US it is going to affect ALL of us no matter where you live. This is a sad day indeed because of one radical person bent on revenge religion or whatever countless lives are lost. My optinion bomb the people responsible off the map to teach these people that we don't take s**t from their cowardly attemps to ruin our lives. Here comes WW3. This isn't going to stop until there is more blood spilled. God help us all earnie86 09-11-2001, 07:12 PM I am Canadian and it saddens me to see something like this happen to our friendly neighbors. This is a sad day for the free world; and a time for all the civilized countries in the world to band together with the U.S. and help put measures together to prevent this type of tragedy from occurring in the future. Please don't point fingers at anyone in your political system; it's necessary for the public to support your government fully. Hopefully they can make the people responsible for this pay and pay dearly, but not at the risk of too many innocents. Wizzard~Of~Ozz 09-11-2001, 07:33 PM Why does everyone take this time to Go on an Ego trip about how great thier country is, There are many problems here, not with what Bush did, Bush is doing what you want, and if he didn't push a defence system and you were nuked and had no defence, you'ld be cursing him for not building it. Hypocrates. 1st, you brodcast how strong your building is (It can take a direct hit from a boeing 707 and this was published) it doesn't take a genius to get something a bit bigger. and you even gave them an idea technically. You arrogantly offer tours of the white house and other major defence structures, you brodcast how defence structures are built, and what strength they are, And what thier weaknesses are, even your nuclear facilities. Whereas most find this interesting, why don't you send a blueprint to every major terrorst group, or maybe just post them on the web. 2nd, You broadcast everything live on CNN, oh look there's the president walking behind the whitehouse on the south side where he always lands when coming from Whatever Airforce base. With a single statement you've given them enough to set up snipers in low tension times. Set up anti aircraft missles all the way along the flight path. one crisis and boom you know his start and destination. America's leading problem is the media. they brodcast how the stealth is made out of arrogance thinking that no one can figure out how to find it. Radar was developed to detect things further then you can see when missles could be launched Without opponents seeing, InfraRed was used for thermal signatures behind the planes. The cold war still roars, there just aren't any opponents. You compete with yourselves to beat yourselves, you invent a plane that can't be detected by normal means, then try to develop a way to find it, then brodcast that. Anyway, too much of a Rant. My heart is with all that have suffered losses in this very tragic event. There is no reason for innocent people to be dragged into a political issue (If it's even that)and there is no excuse for a deliberate attack on heavily civilian populations during thier busiest times. It disgusts me. BBA 09-11-2001, 07:41 PM Although I can not fault a lot of what Wiz of Oz said...I am still pissed. I will not argue further here, I am too sad. Gumby 09-11-2001, 08:09 PM Hope nobody takes offence to this but isn't the attatude of (We will kick there butts for this) just adding fuel to the fire? It was a terrible thing to happen, and alot of people have died. If the USA hits back, where does it all end? Is it the last man standing wins?(who is really going to win?) How many people need to die? Darknyt 09-11-2001, 08:09 PM Wiz...WTF!!!!!! Dont tell me you believe everything that you are told????? Everything that is said in the media isnt always the entire truth. I understand your logic but dang man, we have buildings crashing down around us, body parts falling from the sky, and people dying by the thousands, and you want to criticise the American public for things that arent the fault and/or opinions of the entire community. Im sure you've earned your seat right next to Drlabel......Dont forget to bring your suntan oil.......SPF 1,000,000.....Jacka$* !!!!!!! Fuzzyworm 09-11-2001, 08:21 PM Holy ****! This is so freaky. Who would of thought when you woke up in the morning that today, we would be attacked by terrorist, the world trade center would be destroyed, and the pentagon would be damaged. And all of these attacks were made by crashing airlines into the buildings. This could start WWIII for crying out loud. This is like, the sequel to pearl harbor. May our prayers be with everyone in this accident and each other. Wizzard~Of~Ozz 09-11-2001, 08:39 PM dark, I'm not going to argue with you, That's not why I made that post. I was merely trying to say that not everything is one persons fault as some have said in here. Would you stand in a room half full of enemy's and say don't hit me in the jaw please I might get knocked out? I would agree with the person (sorry forgot name)a couple posts up, Americans are not the police of the known world, and they have a bad habit of jumping into wars that don't involve them, the poster above mentioned most wars, but I would like to add WW1, Americans were no longer a british colony as declared by your own declaration of independance. You were asked at the outbreak of the war, but refused. WW2, See above. yet every movie declares Americans as the reason those wars were won, when they jumped in when the war was 1/2 over or more. I'm not talking about the current acts that have happened. I'm talking in general, and as I have said, no one deserves what has happened today, There is no need to take vengence on the population, and such an act should not be condoned. If they have a problem, declare war, don't kill many that you wouldn't be fighting. Anyways, this is no place to argue, my heart is with you all. DemonKnight 09-11-2001, 08:40 PM The main thing in this discussion that actually bothered me is is the guy telling others they just earned a seat in hell. I'm athiest my self, but okay let me say this "Judge not lest ye be judged." Where do you get the right to tell some one they are going to hell? Your not "God" your one of his "Children" or somthing. Oh and sunblock wont help a bit with fire.. sun block is to block the ultra violet rays of the sun, not the heat of flames. The acts that were commited today were wrong, and a tragety. I do belive that it will lead to military retaliation once the culprit has been identifed. However I sincerly hope it does not lead to a war. I've just turned 18 and I dont want to have to wory about being drafted. I'm not army material, I'm a computer tech nerd basicly. Some times though I think a reminder of why America is considered the strongest country in the world is needed... Wizzard~Of~Ozz 09-11-2001, 08:40 PM Sorry, net lag, double post. [This message has been edited by Wizzard~Of~Ozz (edited 09-11-2001).] skuz 09-11-2001, 09:25 PM Coincidence ?? WWII started september 11, 1939... I hope this is not a sign... daveleau 09-11-2001, 09:29 PM Alright guys, take it easy. No more bickering! I do not hae the ability to change posts here, otherwise I would be spedning the majority of my forum time editing this thread. NO MORE NAME CALLING! Period. We have had a rough day where we were attacked. No need to attack each other. Jav 09-11-2001, 09:30 PM Like other terrorist events, this one warrants a planned, accurate and measured response. Given the severity of the attack, the US needs to respond in kind; to retalitate for the attack, and to lessen the likelyhood of another one. Jav 09-11-2001, 09:31 PM Like other terrorist events, this one warrants a planned, accurate and measured response. Given the severity of the attack, the US needs to respond in kind; to retalitate for the attack, and to lessen the likelyhood of another one. spaijkull 09-11-2001, 09:43 PM The 11th of September 2001. Remember this date, because (unfortunately) it is going to be a date that will be in history books forever. As my (future) children are going to read that very same historybook, I want them to read not about the start of wotld war three, but instead about the worlds most powerful nation showing that it will be able to control itself in a difficult time. The Middle East is a dangerous place to be operating in, and if you're not smooth about what you are doing, the arab world is going to unite as one, and we'll have a major WW on our hands. What I DO NOT WANT TO SEE is that the US will sink to that low LOW LOW level of killing civilians in order to get their point across. I know there is a lot of people out there full of hatred right now. That is very understandible. I would have wanted to KILL KILL KILL if I had lost someone I loved. But please, let's try to stay rational here. Let the first wave of anger pass by. We have to make it 100% certain that the ones that we are going to hold responsible are really involved. Innocent until proven guilty remember. If US starts a war without knowing all the circumstances, it would be like the Judge of a courtroom would shoot an acused killer on the spot without all the evidence present. My point with this is, you are not going to solve any world problems by killing more innocent people. A well-planned, undercover attack is to be used to eliminate the responsible parties. Nobody wants a full scale war I hope. Nobody wants to see even more (American) blood to be spilled during this tragical new start of the 21st century. My thoughts are with all the people that lost their lives out there today, their families, girlfriends, wives, kids. My thoughts are with all of you that feel disgust over what has happened. But we can live through this! I am not telling anyone what to do. Just wanted all of you to think aboout what is going to be the most rational action to take. As I am sitting here in Providence, RI, I hear sirens outside my window. Althroughout the day I have been praying that it is not a terror attack (even though I know Providence is an unlikely target), an that we will never see anyhing like this again. If we don't play our cards right after this incident, we will see it again. Trust me. Mntsnow 09-11-2001, 10:22 PM Sorry. Due to the statements that have and are occuring in this thread I am now closing it. I would have done it earlier but I have been unavaliable until now Asylumz 09-11-2001, 10:22 PM First of all my prayers are out to all of the families that were effected by the terrorist acts. I believe that the United States has eluded the terrorist threat long enough. There was a time when terrorists knew not to attack the US. As we have seen today and in the past that train of thought has been lost. The United States now needs to fight back and let these psychotic terrorists know that we as a people will not tolerate these actions. I believe that the US should send the message that whatever is done to us we will bring back on you ten fold. It is easy to say don't get angry and don't stupe to their level when you are sitting safely in you homes. As a member of the US Military I would rather put my life on the line to know my family and friends are sitting safely at home. BBA 09-12-2001, 01:43 AM Exter...YOU are a moron. This is not an attack on the President of the GREATEST NATION IN THE WORLD! It was an attack on it's ECONOMY. It will also hurt YOUR countries economy. I believe it is a result of UN/NATO actions against Iraq. You know...the actions not controlled by the US. Emc2 09-12-2001, 01:45 AM Let's think of the impact of this localy, not internationally. All of the emergency personnel that went it after the first plane hit are unaccounted for. Who's going to replace them right now? The pentagon still burns at this very moment (~3:30p.m.EST). They're flying sorties over it and every military base with planes armed to the teeth with missles. Every military base in Georgia is on threatcon Delta, meaning no one leaves, no one comes, not even any phone calls or emails. These are a few examples. Think of local implications before war. You want war? Play paintball. n715dp 09-12-2001, 01:48 AM Exter, I second that you are a moron, you have fallen, just like the other sap's in this world, into the media trap. It is not President Bush's defense plan... that is what the media calls it... it is called Star Wars, and since you are a moron you are probably thinking of the movie... hey dumbass, it is Reagan's defense plan, he started it, not Bush, the reason the media is calling it Bush's plan is because he is the only one with the balls to back it because it is a good thing for Americans... hey dutchie boy, if you are so worried about it, put up your on missile defense system... oh wait, you would expect the US to help you out with that becase the world thinks the US owes all to everyone. You are barking up the wrong tree my friend, especially at a time like this. SysOpt.com
