Even with a new faster kt266a, nforce is just around the corner. I rather wait for nforce.

Even better, I *personally* would wait until the Asus A7S266 (based on Silicon Integrated System's SIS 735 Chipset) come out. Asus is also releasing their version of nVidia's nForce Chipset (A7N266) so wait until Asus has both the A7N and the A7S released in the US.

We have a bunch of chipsets to choose from for Athlon DDR - KT266A, Sis735, AMD760, even Ali MaGiK, and the upcoming NForce.

But how about some new processor archetecture...And some killer coolers that dont use high CFM Deltas? I dont like how amount of Mhz has to be somewhat proportional to the amount of noise that your computer emits. Palomino will help somewhat with lower operating temps, but possibly not enough. .13um Palomino Athlon maybe? Someday...

I love all these new boards, but I hate thinking of what killer chip to put in, and what kinda cooling i need to keep the monster from overheating, and keeping my sanity at the same time (and maybe even being able to sleep with it on and in the same room).

That would be the ultimate...

Anyways I think the KT266A is a great improvement, and makes the DDR really work unlike earlier chipsets.

Speaking of which, sounds like the SMP Athlons craze has somewhat died out.

Is there a update for us that have just purchased the KT266 chipset boards. I just received my Epox 8KHA a few weeks ago. I was wondering if they could replace the chipset without having to purchase a new board again.
