I think all MS software can be traced back to who it was sold/issued to unless you bought it at a computer show in bulk or something.
Win Win2K was released before the official release, it was traced back to someone working at Dell or HP or some other manufacturer...which is why they no longer get stuff before release.

BBA, Dells OEM XP Pro final is already floating around the internet, I think it is build 2600.

Thats because the final release was shipped a week and a half ago.
And if someone is saying it is from Dell, it is from another company and they are claiming it's from Dell to cover up the real leak.

Windows XP was released to Manufacturing Aug. 24th. It will be released on Oct 25th. I misunderstood what you ment by released. I assumed you meant the release date not the released to Manufacturing date.
As far as where the copy came from; I just noticed the person said it was from Dell, since I did not download it I don't care. Also from what this person said it does not have the activation ****. I read this in a IRC xp beta chat room so who knows where it came from.

What about software that has never been registered? I have a disk of `95 and `98 I've never registered, I use it on those 486/586 machines. Tho I do put this in where your name and company go during the install "Evaluation ues only, you must purchase a license"
