What the heck will I use now??? acid_burn~187 08-01-2001, 02:24 PM i dunno. but it sure won't be sisoft sandra. ~Paul RobRich 08-01-2001, 02:32 PM The inherent nature of both code, compiler, linker, and run-time optimizations will always force a single executable benchmark to favor a particular platform. It is an accepted fact of the benchtesting process. However, I would hope that SANDRA developers are not intentionally favoring one platform over another. Other alternatives are available here: http://www.tweakfiles.com Robert Richmond batmeat 08-01-2001, 07:03 PM Hey, if Sisoft added code that is optimized for the P4 then good for them. It will give a true comparison between T-bird and the P4. That is the only way a P4 can be tested. If they added code because of some bias butthead then I'd pissed! The article says that in version 8.21 the AMD code was reverted back in. The P4 code is still there. Either way, that article makes Intel sound like a whiner. 'Boohoo, our processors suck, lets throw some cash around to make people think they're better then they actually are.' Maybe I'm going about it the wrong way. Totally uncool, and unethical. acid_burn~187 08-02-2001, 12:50 AM Yet another companie that is pissing me off... if anybody wants a copy of Sandra 2K e-mail me. ~Paul SysOpt.com
