This guy has gone just a bit too far. All that money and time invested into building this thing when the kind of environment this guy really needs would've been much easier to build...a padded cell.

Some people have a train set going through their house.. some people buy more cars then they need.. it's all the same.

It looks like he did a great job. I wonder what his next project is http://www.sysopt.com/news/gws/cdata/smile.gif

It is an inspiration to see what one can accomplish when one doesn't have a life.

It must be cool seeing a Star Trk actor taking out the garbage.

Look the poor ******* lost his wife to another 'Earth man' lol.
I wonder if it was his sense of wonder or that flat that drove her away.
I seen that article in The Sun (A UK daily newspaper...for erm people in the UK..)
Anychance anyone will stop calling him a wierdo until we (UK) have a reasonable judicial system that chemically castrates paediophiles like that creature who killed little Sarah??? Or call apoun any number of 'Couldn't make it up attrocities in his land' That is a clear example of a harmless intelligent individual who made an effort to do a harmless thing off his own back.
I thought it was cool. He likes it. Get a sense of perspective ok.
Just my humble opinion.. And no I don't watch star trek.. I watch **** all because am a dead end job. *waves*

Well in brief.. I think very little but am sure of one thing on my trips to the internet (Yes often on acid or class 'A's)
That it's bizzare to form a comment on an individual like trekker boy. Totally harmless...And who the hell passed a law in house of lords to decorate your house? I thought it was only girls who gossiped lol.
Clearly I was wrong.
Just like the average personas lol
Easily angered..
Quick to judge...
Slow to learn..
Wonder what will **** you off next?

I think i hear a call from ripleys believe it or not.

I think it's cool, but on a hobby basis, only if he is not completely obsessed. Complete obsession is always unhealthy.

It all depends on circumstances. He obviously put a lot of thought and work into it. Could that have been directed toward a more beneficial end?

Maybe, but can you answer why do we buy computers to play games on? Then hang out on internet sites like this to make jokes about other people doing what they enjoy http://www.sysopt.com/news/gws/cdata/biggrin.gif You do understand that by the very nature of looking at this you are infact considered a nerd or an egghead by most of your neighbors...right?

He did a nice job and all, but note that this is his apartment. Which means that he's going to have to move out some time, and when he does, the whole thing is going to have to go. Of course, if he never gets married (*** snicker ***) and never has kids, then I guess it's not a problem living in an apartment with no bedrooms.

Amen Brother BBA preach on! my neighbors don't think i ever leave the house and play counterstrike all the time. All i can do is laugh. But I don't like my computer enough to make my room look the inside of a computer. I think sleeping on a giant pair of ram could cause some back problems. LOL

Well, maybe it's modular and can be easily moved when he leaves.

I don't think he's stupid. Everybody wants to do something unique with their lives, in work and in play, and if this guy wants to express himself by building a set in his apartment then so be it. He's talked about all over the Net now and could probably make $500k in book deals, etc http://www.sysopt.com/news/gws/cdata/smile.gif.

wow some of u guys were pretty harsh. I'm not a big trekie or anything. But what he did was pretty cool. Must have taken time and money true... but what about all us comptuer geeks... spending hours sitting in front of a grey box, always twaking it, dumping thousands of dollars into it to shave a couple of seconds of loading times.. We are almost as bad as him. http://www.sysopt.com/news/gws/cdata/smile.gif ALMOST. well.. yeah AMOST.

Now what would be really cool is if that pannel he made was realy a 1.33 gig T-Bird O'Ced to 1.6 with 512 meg DDR and he can play UT on that ultra wide screen we see on the bridg of those star ships. http://www.sysopt.com/news/gws/cdata/smile.gif

Im not a trekie or nothing like that, i do sometimes watch th show when there is nothing on tv. in regards to to this i did notice they said aparment, hmm i could understand spending all that money on your own home, and there is nothing wrong with doing that but what about an apartment which isnt even his. but in terms of the job done its looks really clean and profesional...

just my 2cp http://www.sysopt.com/news/gws/cdata/wink.gif

Let the guy be.
He did an excelent job, and might even get a job at the studio, creating new sets for the new episodes, who knows.

One thing I was looking for, just as we never see it on TV, where is the toilet?? The john, the lew.

And what happened to the kitchen, or is there just a microwave?

The game idea on the BIG screen would be really cool http://www.sysopt.com/news/gws/cdata/wink.gif

"You CANNA CHANGE THE LAWS OF PHYSICS.."but theres nothing to stop you from changing the decor in your apartment,(by the way in the UK a 'studio apartment' is usually the kind of property bought by single guys!).
I think the guys pad is cool. When we were young we all decorated our rooms with posters, far out paint jobs etc, I think his endeavour is quite an enterprise.
This guy has boldly gone where no man has gone before.
He's chosen his decor and decided to make it so,he's part of the next generation of newly single guys.
Someone said his wife left him, Ok his marraige is dead Jim, why Klingon to his ex.
He's probably had to live with pastel shades, matching curtains carpets and furnishings all chosen by his ex during their time together. He's shaking off the past, good luck to him.
P.S I wonder if he buys Nambarrie T-bags.
