I always wanted to get a palm device, but they were always too much. I found thier new one, the m100, for $100, but before i will by it i have some questions. Can you load .txt files, or any text file, onto them and read it? Can you change font or size? What other features do these things have besides being overpowered pocket orginizers?

I want to know where you found one for $100. I've only seen them go for full retail ($149) or even more on E-Bay! I have a Vx and want to get am M100 for the wife so we can share a common calendar, phone book, etc. - but every store I go to is sold out! Time to order online, I guess.

I have a Palm IIIx that I've been very happy with. You can load text files using HotSync. I use memos in Outlook at home and Palm Deskop at work to tranfer text in and out. If you want to load larger documents into your Palm, like a whole book, there is a shareware program called AportisDoc. It uses about half of the memory that a normal text file would, and is read-only. You can convert text into that file format with several different shareware programs. There are 3 default text sizes you can display text in.

As far as beyond-organizer type functions, there are thousands of programs written to run on the Palm OS. Games, utilities, etc. can be found all over the internet. Just do a search for the type of program you're interested in. http://www.palm.com/resources/shareware.html is one place to start looking for what you want. http://www.palm.com/resources/links.html has links to other Palm sites.
