Click to See Complete Forum and Search --> : Saving streaming audio to disk?

I enjoy listening to certain audio presentations, many I deem worthy of saving for future replay. How does one save these to disk? I tried right-clicking to see if "Save to disk" was an option, under Real Player for example, but it was not. Anybody know?

Thx!

Only two ways I can think of really: set the sound recorder to record from the Wave or Mixer input. Either that, or if you have two computers, hook the output of one sound card to the line-in of the other, and hit record. But those streaming things are probably designed not to be saveable.

Thx, Jeff. I'll ponder your proposed solution. You're likely correct about the not intended to be saved sentiment.

It's a good prog, BUT you only can record 40 seconds, right? That's the way it was when I dl-ed it a few months ago.

I don't know if this applies, but some stuff that does not give you the option to save I have found in my temp internet files. Don't try and play them from there, my machine went buggy, but most of them I could copy and paste into a different folder, then play. My SBL also has a option to "record what you hear" which worked well for me!
Hope this helped

Warthog, if you purchase a "registration number" for about $11.00, the program records audio of ANY length. The eval version has the 40 sec limit.

Biff, I don't have SBL, but thx for the feedback!

I agree w/ Biff. thats the way i do it. You just have to weed through the files and it should be there. What I do is, if there is a file (.ram,.mov,etc) that I want to save,Ill clear my temp Internet files then go play the file, and its easier to find it in the temp Int file folder.
