Highest fps on a voodoo 3 in Counter Strike?

Right now I haven't installed my mobo and cpu in my signature. I'm on a 500 K6-2 and Amptron 5598LMR mobo http://www.sysopt.com/forum/frown.gif I get around 15 to 30 fps in CS at 1024 res in opengl. It doesn't matter what res I'm in, I still get only the same fsp. I know my mobo sux. I know my voodoo is outdated. But I have met some people in CS that has same vid, but on better cpu's and get WAY better fps. What average fps you guys get in CS on a voodoo, and res and opengl?

When I first had CS, I already had Athlon 750 MHz, with Voodoo3 3000 and 512MB RAM got around 60fps, if it helps http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

Well, my other system is the same as yours.!!!

AMD K6-2 500mhz
PCChips 598MLR motherboard
128 PC100 (or is it 133???)Ram
Integrated sound
Voodoo 3 2000
etc.etc

In Quake 3 I reached about 50fps at 800x600 (I think I was using WickedGL--don't remember) and in CS my average frame rates were about the same as yours.!!! more or less.!

I think that what set us back in these system is the memory throughput of the weak *** mobo and the proc.!

Both games run fine in my new system (like at 90fps or something). So if you can, try to update your system, if not, there's a lot of drivers and utilities for Voodoo cards.

Do a search for wickedgl it works very well for me i used to get 30fps but with wickedgl i get a better picture and 40 50 fps (celeron 466 @ 520 voodoo 3 2000 agp)

I had a P2/400 on an ASUS P3B-F with 128MB and a V3/2000 PCI and I got 78fps in Counter-Strike!!! Change the Motherboard and you're on your way!

Guys, I get 70 to 99 fps all the time now in CS with all the details on high. Man the difference in game play. I just got off of server with deagle5 map(deagles only--real fun) and got an astounding 60/32 ratio. And that's against 6 cable users!! Which goes to show you that high fps is the winner on HL netcode, not ping all the time. Man, I'm glad I up-graded my ****ty k6 and mobo!!!!
