I was wondering if anyone has a favorite test. Not because it artificially inflates your score but one that you think is more accurate in more categories than others you've tried. Or any that you think are good but some little quirk to watch out for.,
I want to ck my system for speed and video.

I agree Sandra is the best/most used bench

Well, and that's my point is it the best or most used? I also got some really crappie readings from it, and it was very vary small print that mentioned, oh by the way this doesn't work, I thought that must surly be overrated.

I dont know about "best all around" but I and most people use Sandra for "overall" testing but then use apps such as 3Dmark to test Video, HDTach to test HD's ect ect as I dont think there is a single app that does "everything" the best.
just my humble views http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

Thanks, I just thought I remembered reading that some of them worked better than others. I don't know why, but I hate sandra. Shh don't tell anyone here, I know the guys love her. I downloaded 3dmark 2 times and it was corrupted both times, I think I'll try again.
Thanks for the input http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

I got 3Dmark2001 from www.reactorcritical.com (http://www.reactorcritical.com) so you might wanna give that a try. Well 3Dmark2000/1 are best from what I understand on Video. Might I suggest having a look at Hardware review sites like Tom's Hardware and Anandtech and see what they use.

You can get better bench programs but you have to pay for them . Bapco makes a lot of these programs..!
You should also try zdnet's one (if they still exist) like winbench or whatever.!

BTW, the 3DMark website is: www.madorion.com (http://www.madorion.com)
I like the 3Dmarks. Sandra is okay. It's really a program designed to troubleshoot and optimize the system, not benchmark it. PCWORLD is supposed to have a benchmark, but I can't find it. Maybe you can: www.pcworld.com (http://www.pcworld.com)
