This is using the coolermaster HS/f that I got when I got the CPU(OEM).
It's a Duron 750 and with no load <IMG SRC="http://albums.photopoint.com/j/View?u=1663815&a=12749912&p=50299984" border=0>
Now this is running Seti for 20min with Winamp and 2 IE windows running <IMG SRC="http://albums.photopoint.com/j/View?u=1663815&a=12749912&p=50299983" border=0>
Pretty bad increase in temp IMO.
Lot's of case ventilation too and a few Case fans, I'll have to clean out the dust though.

Yes, that's a bit high.
My 850 Duron is at 35 C under full load.

It actually got to 49 C after about an hour of SETI. That's what you get with a 'Cooler' Master HS/F.
BTW that fan speed readout is of the HS/f off the northbridge, else I couldn't update the BIOS, the new KT7 Bioses require a Fan with speed output or they won't post... Can't wait for a WBK38 but a Vid-card is first on the list.

The new BIOS does not require that you have a fan on fan header one, since the WZ BIOS that option has been disabled by default.

Duron 600@1Ghz
384MB PC133
Geforce 2 GTS 32MB
Asus A7V
Win98se
Sensor 1=Motherboard Temp
Sensor 2=CPU Temp
Fan 2=CPU fan (38cfm Delta)
<IMG SRC="http://jl321.tripod.com/temps.JPG" border=0>
You probably need to give it a dusting and get a new cooler on that cpu.
BTW, this is at full load running RC5 24/7
That clicking sound you hear is your PC speaker. The temps are above the threashold that you have set and it is telling you through your pc speaker either on the motherboard or the one mounted on the case. I used to use Asus Probe and it took me a while what that noise was too. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

jl123. what should the threshold be set at exactly?
robin
I have duron 700@724 and the temperatures when chassis is closed are at ~50 for cpu and ~40 for system. Chassis opened they are at ~40for cpu and ~30 for system. Using coolermaster that supposedly should be enough for 1,2ghz. Doubt it, seems that coolermasters are really warmingmasters.

This is of course under full load.

I cleaned out the case, rounded the cables and added a better layer of thermal paste, also lapped this coolermaster thing until I get a FOP/WBK . So far it's idling at 23c and under full load it's going to 39c. Man, you wouldn't believe how long it took, I spent 6 hours taking it apart piece by piece. My PS fans is running really great now though, I cleaned and oiled it up and you can really feel the airflow now.
