I after reinstalling windows 98 SE, I was changing my recycle bin setting so I wouldn't use so much of my hard drive space. As I looked more carefully I noticed that the size of the hard drive read 1.99GB. The reason it bothered me was because I have two partitions both 10GB, and they both were being reported with that size. I went to a friends computer to make sure I wasn't just mine and sure enough, his was the same way. I have since check several computers running windows 98 and they all say the same thing.

I am guessing that when the were making the win98 that they never changed that in the code because win95 only support fat.

Has anybody else ever noticed that, because after years of using it I just did? Either way I have never heard about it or seen it, and I thought it was pretty funny.

**edit**
For those that have alrealy read this, it is win98 SE that I have installed.

Well what do ya know, you're right. W98 (first edition) and there it is, 1.99GB instead of 6.99GB.

I can't believe no one has noticed this before now.

Yeah, I noticed that too. I guess no one really is expecting to dump over 2 GB into the recycle bin at one time. I try not to use it at all.

Yea, Microbrain forgot or just didn't bother to upgrade the Recycle Bin from W95.
