Over the past few weeks I`ve been having a problem. 75% of the time I go to shut down, it hangs. Most of the time I go start, shut down, it removes everything but my backgroung and just sits there. I hit ctrl, alt, del and it says that the system is busy waiting on the shut down dialog box to appear. Well, it`s already appeared and I`ve already clicked shut down. it also says to hit ctrl, alt, del to restart....well, thats a joke too, that dont do anything. Last night it went as far as the screen that says windows is shutting down, and hung again. I`ve disabled the fast shut down and that did`nt help. I`ve checked for errors, defragged, everything I can think of other than re-installing windows. When this happens, I can kill the power and restart, then it will shut down like it suppose to...Any suggestions before I lose everything I have here? Microsoft Windows 98 4.10.1998
