Or web server for web serving? For just local development, you can run Personal Web Server (PWS) in 98, though you need TCP/IP, so you may need a live connection (network or dial-up). It should be free, or was the last time I checked. There are others... For web serving, it will depend on the server OS. NT >>> IIS. Unix >>> Apache. Apache is free, IIS is not. Apache exists for NT, but has not been fully optimized. BTW, there are more Apache web servers than any other. Dove19983 07-15-2001, 03:47 AM SimpleServerWWW is 191K. Runs very smooth on my comp. It even MIME file typing, CGI, common log format, and multi-hosting. Get It Here (http://www.analogx.com/contents/download/network/sswww.htm) rh71 07-22-2001, 09:25 PM I don't understand what you are asking about FTP servers... but as far as free webservers and simplicity go... I vote for that latest response as well... I used to run that on my WIN98SE machine with no problems. AnalogX makes good, free, stuff. xtremerider247 07-25-2001, 02:38 PM i found a server---dk3.com it works ok but it takes for ever from the point of finishing the upload of my file to when one can actually see them on the internet. i am looking for a site--similar to dk3.com. visit looneytunes!--> www.looneytunes.dk3.com (http://www.looneytunes.dk3.com) SysOpt.com
