I have a window 2000 system with a local security policy which doesnt let people do anything but surf the net. Somehow someone changed the default homepage. I don't know how they did it because it is pretty secure. I tried the link at the bottom of www.searchnow.ws (http://www.searchnow.ws) and it didnt work. It just refreshed the page.

żżżżdoes anyone know how to set a page to be the default automatically when the pages load????...I want to see if there is a loophole past my security settings. I know there must be a ton of jscript and other code that can do this.

Thanks

computadorka,
try clicking and dragging the little explorer webpage icon in the address bar and dragging it onto the home button. It should ask if you want to set your homepage to that page. It works for me with win98se/ie5.5, might work for you...

good luck
ciao!

it is possible that one of users browsed to a site that forces a default page on you (and adds to the favourites etc) - rather common with warez, pr0n and gambling sites.
I think the only way to kill these is to disable JS and ActiveX stuff, which obviously impacts a lot of legitimate web content...
