CuteFTP is a easy to learn FTP client but it does have a negitive side to it...It has "spyware" in it.

I personally would recommend the WS-FTP LE client as it is free for the HOME USER for PERSONAL use. You can download it from www.ipswitch.com (http://www.ipswitch.com)

Exactly what I wanted to say. I had use CuteFTp for some time until I discovered it has that freaky spyware thingie.! WSFTP is good but, what about the ole windows ftp in the dos prompt??? That's what I use now.!!

gee, didn't know the spyware in cuteftp. I liked it, was easy to use. I had problems with WS-FTP pro, while no problems with cute ftp. Will have to find another software.

I still use cuteftp 2.8. Works great for what I need to do, doesn't have all those fancy search features and such. It's very stable, spyware free and easy to use. There are also some neat patches(I'm not talkin bout cracks) for it, like one that shows hidden files on a remote server. If you can find a copy, give it a try. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

i purchased cuteftp pro 1.0, and its the crappiest friggen piece of ftp software out there. it does support tons of protocols, including ssh which is good for uploading to your web site. you may want to download the demo and check it out. i dont believe it was too expensive. i do prefer WS_FTP though.

I got cute FTP pro my self and I'm sorry to say I like the non-pro version better. you might try smart FTP (I didnt like it much but it is free)

Check the spyware-infested software hit list (http://www.infoforce.qc.ca/spyware/enknownlistfrm.html) .

Then get Ad-Aware (http://www.lavasoft.de/) to get rid of it. <IMG SRC="http://digitalmntsnow.com/socalgal/smiley's%20and%20ubb/tongue.gif" border=0>

I use voyager, and I like it a lot. my favorite feature is the "synchronize" feature. I know other programs out ther have it, but I also like the ease with which I can get around in voyager.
