I am curious if I can use a rewritable CD to made audio CDs that I can play in my stereo. I have looked throught the documentation, but it does tell either way.

Thanks

Depends on your player, really. CD-RW's are a relatively new things and require a special reader for them; most stereos will not even recognize them. You're better off sticking to regular CD-R's for your audio, especially at the low price of CD-R's these days. When you look at it, how many times do you actually plan to write to then erase a CD-RW for music, then go back and re-record it? Stick to CD-R's.

just in case you are looking for a second opention, I agree, and if you care at all, go for the silver disks, not the cheap green ones.

From the Yamaha web site: CRW4416EZ

The CRW4416EZ is the answer to your data storage, back-up and transfer needs. No other storage medium is so cost-effective. No other medium can be read by 200 million computers world wide. And no other medium lets you record music and play it back on your stereo or in your car. Yamaha sets the standard for CD-ReWritable (CD-RW) drives. Yamaha quality, reliability, speed, features, bundled software and reputation are just a few of the reasons why.

(emphasis mine) This is the one I'm planning on buying ~ about $200 plus shipping on www.pricewatch.com (http://www.pricewatch.com) for one with cables, software and paperwork. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
