Appreciate some assistance.

Have a Toshiba Tecra 520CDT with a 4GB internal HD, and would like to get an external Travelstar 8E (8GB) PCMCIA (Slot Type II)hard drive.

Q#: Is it possible to use an external hard drive (such as the one mentioned above), and the laptop's internal 4GB at the same time, or can you only use one or the other?

Yes, you can use them both at the same time. The internl one will still show up as drive C: while te new drive will be drive D:.
