I just bought a DVD-ROM decoder from RunTime Computer Corporation (runtimecc.com) and it installed fine. But, IT DOESN'T HAVE A DECODER! Where can I get one and what can I do about it? It was a Pioneer 16x Tray Loading and I'm on a 700 MHz P3 and Win98, if that matters. Thanks!

True Blue Quasar DVD Decoder is the one I have and is extremely good quality!! It works with all MS O/S!!
Retail is around $150(AUS) and you can get a remote for it at around $30(AUS)

From what I've seen, the most popular is the Hollywood Magic decoder card.

Are you sure you even need a decoder card? What are your system specs? It could be a waste of money to get one.

Well he's got a 700mhz PIII... In which case you really shouldn't need a decoder card. Anything above a PII 350 should be able to play DVD pretty good from what I hear. I'm running an Athlon 1.333Ghz with no decoder card and my video is very smooth. And I'm averaging less than a 20% processor load when watching DVD's. I had an old Dxr2 decoder board from my old Pentium 200 that I installed in my Athlon system, and the video was just as smooth, but it actually looked a lot worse using the decoder card.

Don't waste your money on a decoder card then.
