And what are your resourses when you boot up there OuTpaTienT?
lol

Notice the total denial of resourse wasters here.

Hey! What are you guys using for your graphics. The file sizes take a long time to load on this page! Power Point 97 makes a nice size file when saving to j-peg.
Just my 2 cents.
PS. Where did this thread originate? I don't know if I am within context here.

Now if we could combine eagle1's jet with my Eagle Nebulae, what a pic that would be.

I think it's the tild in your addressing that stopped the image.

That's better and cool!

I think the topic should be a warning to better be on Cable or DSL to view this thread. lol

Hey Beemers, what are you talking about? My resources are about 92% at start.

It looked like you have a lot of items on toolbar and taskbar that boot up with
Windows. Makes your boot a bit slower if nothing else. All that stuff caught me by
surprise. I'm used to everything being hidden on the Start, Programs menu. Besides,
it was 3:30 am and I hadn't had my first coffee yet. Nice array of icons. How do you know
what everything is? One profile on that computer I guess. lol

Only things that start on start-up are:
Zone Alarm
Macro Express
& the tempeture probe thingy.

In the screenshot, I happen to also be running
WinAmp
& Rain

and that's all that's running.

As for the toolbars full of icons, I just know
what everything is...anyone else on my machine
can just hover the mouse over an icon to find out what
it is, or they can use the Start menu like a normal person. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/wink.gif

Oooops! Busted.

Give me a few more days. I'm still working on heat issues.
My CPU has been running about 110°-117°F without
running RC5. That's not overheating but still a little
too warm for my taste. But just today with the rearrangement
of some fans I've been able to bring the temp down to 100°-104°F
...much better, if it stays.

So the cow is just a short time away. I mean, come'on,
my last name is Cowger, how could I not want to have a cow
in my tray. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/wink.gif

It was getting a little tight at that point but I was at 44% at the time of the shot.
I have just about every optimization for the file system in place. All I need now is a
RAM drive to host my swap file and things will be perfect. Besides. It was staged.
I need a defrag exiting this page. Take a look at your Temporary Internet Files folder
with this page open. Desk.Jet comes in first place with the smallest file size. lol

Socalgal, you'll be happy to know the cow is back. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif
And currently even with the cow my temp is running a steady 105°F
...not bad at all.

Re: sizes of these graphics.

CATWATCH you have two graphics on this page with sizes of
467,363 & 369,008. Anything over 200,000 is just way too big.
You seriously need to learn to compress those .jpg's. Whatever
utility you're using to save the graphics should allow for a
compression percentage change. Try setting it to 75% or even lower.
