I put a Creative 12x10x32 burner in my new 'puter and was wondering what everyone's preferences were toward the burning software. It came with software from NTI and I have used Roxio's EZ-CD Creator. What does everyone use/prefer and why? Thanks,
Jeff

Nero works great never had any problems with it. It came with my burner. I use CloneCd for those hard to copy CDs. It can burn copys of some protected CDs. Great to use for backing up games.

Nero is great if it works, easy cd is what it says, easy, and imho, quite effective nowadays. Roxio has the directcd (more widely spread than aheads incd), use both if you wish, it's not big space anyways. Neros cheap b t w =)

I use Adaptec Easy CD Creator 4.02 since it's easy as the name says. And I also use CloneCD and Padus Disk Juggler for CD to CD copies...

Everything works good with NTI. It's easy to do just about anything. I copied one cd directly and created a music cd from mp3 files. I'm happy with it. I really don't see a need for easy cd creator or nero. CloneCD will still come in handy to burn stubborn discs. Thanks,
Jeff

I personally use Nero or Adaptec DirectCD.

Can you have both Nero and EZ CD Creator on your system at the same time? I know when you install "Nero" it tells you to first remove EZ CD Creator. Is this necessary?

Why don't you try the NTI that came with it? I've used itand it seems to work quite well. Nero is nice but I haven't seen any advantage with the creative drive.

I'm using NTI CDmaker 2000 (very recently), Easy CD Creator 4 (came with burner), and CD Clone.
I like them all, except gotta figure out why CD creator 4 and CD Clone cause coasters on a burn-proof 12x10x32 Lite-on burner, using a 52x cdrom.

You can run Nero with Easy CD Creator installed. Just run msconfig (win9x) and uncheck easy cd and direct cd so they don't run in the systray.

Could very well be, go to the Site, but it's not Adaptec any more, it's Roxio.com (http://www.roxio.com/)
Look up your CD player and check for compatibility.

I tried most of them but the one I like is Sony's CD Extreme software. Nice simple menu, does CD Copy, .img and .iso images to disk or burn. Also it makes CDA disks from .mp3.
I got the full version when I bought a Sony CD rom last year and has worked great for me on Win2K system with SP1.

I too like Sony's CD Extreme. Simple, easy to use, and I know it's going to work with my Sony drive. Next in line would be Nero Burning Rom.
I specifically don't like EZ CD Creator 5 and not too fond of CDRWin.

i use nero 5049-came with burner lite-on 12101b(12x10x32x) with burn-proof and raw-data-possibility. i have used old hp 7200+ 2x2x6x. at the end the burner burned audio instead of data.. but the audio-tracks could only be see on the burner-drive. other cd-rom-drive did not show the wrongly burned track 4 of the multisession cd-r. so the laser of the burned was broken. i am not sure if only the newer versions beginning 5518 allow using more than one burning software or if its already allowed in version 5049(i can make a free of charge upgrade). i have tried versions 5518 and 5524. i only burned data and made security copies of bootable and normal cds. the newer software disable the automatic activation of cds. but nero-ahead tells too one should disable the dma-setting for the all-cd-drives. i use cd-check ...267 and cdspeed99(cdspeed2000.com to check burned data and compare cds and to test reading burned cds(only cd-rom-drives are working fine with cdspeed99). one have to be very precise in using these 2 softwares. you must have a strict test-precedure otherwise you never know where the faults are. bad cd-software, bad cd-disc, bad cd-rom-reader, bad burner, bad burning procedure, bad pc-configuration. if you burn and test. restart your pc after each procedure.good luck.

I used to use Adaptec EZCD Creator 4.03 with my Plextor 8432A to burn my CDs until I upgraded the Plextor 2000 Software to the latest version. The Plextor runs with less problems and is a bit simpler.

I use NTI CD Maker Pro 2000. I've been using NTI's software for several years [many different versions] and find it to be easy to use, very versatile and does about any copy or burning job. Truthfully it is very similar to EZ CD Creator.
