What is the difference between box and OEM Processors? And what does the E and EB stand for?

The oem processors have a shorter warranty (usually 30 days), don't come with a heatsink, and are a bit cheaper. The retail processors have a longer warranty (3 years), comes with a (crappy) heatsink, and cost a bit more. The E signifies coppermine core and .18 micron manufacturing. The B signifies that it is intended to run on a 133 Mhz Front Side Bus. EB is both.

Boxed or Retail cpu's come usually with a 3 yr warranty and a Mfg reccomended Fan/heat sink assy.
OEM processors usually have no fan and heat sink, ususally a $15 add on. Also
OEM cpu's may have been tested to see if they will overclock and hence they usually come with NO warranty from the Mfg, just a short one from the Dealer.
Pay the diff for the Retail one.
The EB processor is the faster of the two ,, I think. check out www.intel.com (http://www.intel.com) and see if they have any reading on it..

Keep in mind, though, that if you're going to be overclocking, that heatsink isn't going to be worth @#$%. As for EB or not to EB, are you going to be overclocking the processor? If so, DON'T get the EB, get the E. If not, then get the EB, since the faster FSB will help your other components.

What does FC-PGA mean on processors? Does this mean it is for Slot 1 or what?
Also what is a flip chip?

FC-PGA = Flip Chip Pin Grid Array. And that would be socket, NOT slot. Intel has decided to go back the old way, cuz the cost to produce FC-PGA costs less than Slot CPU's. You will need to buy a heat sink and fan seperately if you buy FC-PGA. Most new mainboards are made to use FC-PGA CPU's. Slot is phasing out.

Well I just bought a Abit vt6k4 board, and I thought it was one of the newer boards. How do I use one of these chips if my board is Slot 1 based.
You can just go out to a computer store and buy a slot to socket converter which will cost you about $15 USD.

Does this depreciate the power of the cpu in any manner?

And there isn't really any difference between the two?
only difference is that 1 is slot and 1 is FC-PGA. and FC-PGA is a bit cheaper too by the way.
