Anyone know exactly what files or procedures
are required to make a CD a Boot CD? I know
about the Autorun.inf file...I can get apps
to run on boot. I just need to get the boot
process going...

This is just a guess. A hard drive partition must be set "active" to boot. So in addition to having the appropriate system files and a bios that can be set to boot to the cd-rom. A bootable cd must have something similar to an active setting. My cd burner program has a box you select to make the cd you're burning bootable. Hope this helps.
With EZCD creator you need a floppy which you know works as a boot disk then you select that option in EZCD. It copies the floppy to the cd in a way that makes it a boot cd (not sure of correct terminology).
You can then copy other files to the cd later. Not sure about other programs but I'm sure they would be fairly similar.
Did a search for 'make boot cd' and found these: From Codybear http://nikko.simplenet.com/goldentime/bootcd1b.htm
and again here http://www.sysopt.com/forum/Forum9/HTML/003743.html

Good links...and it worked too. Thanks
All the major burning programs can make bootable cds. Not sure of the things they put in it, but booting from cd always says 'boot system, 1.44mb floppy' so I'd guess it's a standard bootable floppy they put in there.
