I wonder if anyone can clarify this for me. I have a TEAC CD-W512EB (12x10x32) CDRW drive. Whenever I format a CD with DirectCD, I get only 571 MB available. It's the same whether I use 650MB or 700MB CD-Rs. What happened to the other 89/129MB? Is there any way to increase the available space?
I've also tried Ahead's InCD, but I get 572MB i.e. not much difference.
That's normal having less than the full capacity of CDR or CDRW media when formatting it for direct access using packet writers such as Direct CD or InCD. The reason for the less disk space than the actual capacity of the media is because system files must be written to the media...

Thanks for the reply. Though I wonder why the capacity is the same if i use 650MB or 700MB CDRWs?
That might be 'cause the format utility is so old it doesn't recognize 700mb cdrws and formats them as 650. Might be, just a guess =)
