I have 2 WDC drives:
1) ATA66 7200rpm 15GB (Primary)-- C: (5GB) Windows and E: (10GB) Data
2) ATA66 5400rpm 8GB (Secondary)-- D: (8GB) MP3s

I've noticed that since I've partitioned drive #1, I now have more problems booting and running Windows than before. But I really like the partition, because if I need to a full install of Win98, I don't lose all my other apps to boot.

What would you guys do? I mean, I thought I set it up optimally already. Could it be the quality of my drives?

Please help...!

Here's (http://pub51.ezboard.com/fxtreme89487frm15.showMessage?topicID=49.topic) How my partitions are setup...

I have two 15GB 7200 rpm WD Expert drives in my main system and love the setup. Mine is :

hdd1: 5GB Win2000, 3GB WinME, 7GB storage
hdd2: 5GB Red Hat 7.1, 10GB storage (FAT32)

I notice no slowdowns in system performance when partitioning. It is all a matter of convenience. I would say there is a problem with the setup (OS) of some kind and would look into that.
