I don't know much about computers,so I need your help. I have an old IBM compatible computer. I know it has a pentium 133 processor, 64 ram and 3 gb hard drive. QUESTION IS: I saw an ad for a compaq presario intel celeron processor 600 mhz with 64 ram, 15 gb, modem, printer, 40x cd, monitor and compaq inkjet 300 color printer and after rebates etc... it's $200. I also saw a emachines intel celeron 566 mhz with 32 mb syncdram , 7.5 gb, cd, v.90 modem for free with signing up for msn like the other one. You can buy a monitor and printer for $100...but I already have those with this computer. Would I be happy with either one of these? Would they be faster than what I have? We just use the computer for kids games, internet, and quickbooks, etc... Also, I'd never heard of celeron processor. Is Compaq Presario a good computer or should I steer clear? HELP!! Thanks!

I would buy them.

It is a full computer for really cheap, and if ya decide ya don't want it, there are nice parts inside, like the Celeron's, that overclock so well http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/biggrin.gif

Before you buy one of them, add up the total amount you'll be paying for one over the 3(?) years you're locked into paying for MSN. I think you'll find they're not so cheap after all. I personally build my own computers and use a free internet provider. If you're not inclined to build your own, I'd recommend getting one from a reputable system builder in your area. If you do end up buying one of the two systems anyway, stay away from emachines.

Just my $.02
