Can't spend all my time overclocking Celerons can I?
Having recently discovered the wonders of Adobe Photoshop I have found that is an excellent way to modify cars without actually having to lay a tool on it.
Here I have taken my cousins 928 Porsche and slammed it into the ground, lopped the top off and changed the wheels. Threw in a faded badge and a kooky background and I have something worth laughing at.
The 928 convertible is here. (http://www.chariot.net.au/~bst/2001/images/928cabriolet.jpg)
I hope you enjoy it. Let me know if you want me to give your car a go. This is fun.

Nice PS work, but if you did that to my Porsche, I'd have to kill you. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/biggrin.gif At least the slam to the ground part.

(psst) I'd prolly upgrade for a trade-in on a 2000 if I got a good deal http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif )
Can't afford the Z8 (http://www.bmwusa.com/z/z8/z8main.html) quite yet :/ But I really like the Z8 (http://www.digitalmntsnow.com/socalgal/stuff_other/z8_1.jpg) ... in fact I think I'm in love with the Z8 (http://www.digitalmntsnow.com/socalgal/stuff_other/z8_2.jpg) . Maybe you're thinking it's not proper to love a car, but then maybe you haven't driven a Z8 (http://www.digitalmntsnow.com/socalgal/stuff_other/z8_3.jpg) yet.
Zoom-zoom! http://www.sysopt.com/forum/biggrin.gif
Edited - had to add some more pics of my Z8 (http://www.digitalmntsnow.com/socalgal/stuff_other/z8-interior.jpg) *swoon* http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif

If you didn't slam it to the ground it might actually look good.
Oh well. Do you realize that by making it a convertible you just made it look like a 968?

Wow, What a response!
Socalgal I'll start working on your car tonight and I'll let you know when I have something for it.
It'll get the HotRod treatment the best way I know how.
Goldenwingnut... I would love to hot rod the (whatever it is) but if you really want me to give it the treatment you are going to have to find a slightly better photo (black and white is cool though).
Thanks for all the compliments. I'd appreciate it if anyone can put a link up that will explain the role of "Paths" in Photoshop. I have so much to learn.
I have made a few other mods to the 928 which I will post when I get back home from work tonight.
Has anyone else done anything like what I did to the 928? Post your links.

Bitm@d - it's a King Midget. 9 HP Briggs and Stratton motor, chain drive to one rear wheel.
Sold from little 1.5" wide ads in the back of Popular Mechanics etc in the 50's and 60's.
Not suitable for NFL-sized sumo-shaped people like me.

Thanks for the path and other links (Out and the King). Surreal, can you find a better shot? It's a bit hard to work from that angle.
Thanks to all who sent me pics directly to my email address. My inbox exploded this morning and took a good 15 minutes to fully download. I'm not complaining though because I got a lot of decent material to work with.
Here's what I'll do. What am I bid?... only kidding (sort of). Even though I could sit and do this all day I have to work for a living as well. I'll pick the photo's that have the best angles and will provide the most impact, I'll build a small gallery and share the link.
Who know's, with enough practice and material from you guys I may even be able to charge some lunch money for a high resolution version suitable for framing. Any ideas on what something like that might be worth to an enthusiast? It might be worth trying to become extremely proficient because I sure have the patience for it - and beleive me, you do need patience.
One thing's for sure. It sure is cheaper than Tommy the Greek or the Boyd boys (Hotrod builders).
Socalgal, you where the first one. I'll work on the side on shot. I'm not sure if I can get your wheels from shot one to distort enough to fit so I might have to look at some others. Are there any that you fancy - may as well be useful while I'm at it. Send the link if you see any that you would like to 'try on'.
Outpatient, you are right. You seem to know about these things, am I right in presuming that 928's didn't come in a convertible?
I wish I had that photo to work with last night. Still, it's good to see I wasn't far off. I agree, the 928's don't make great convertibles.

I think that it would be a good idea If I stopped having much fun until after the US situation has settled down a bit - if it ever does.
Rest assured that we in Australia are immensely saddened by the recent events and my thoughts are with all who are involved in this madness.

I needed a break from all the news so I went back to work on the convertible and decided that I would lay the body down on top of the original pictire.
I'm still working on the windshield but I'm pretty happy with the results.

Now I think that's sharp looking. I like the nose of the 928 better than on the 968. And it's true, there are no convertible 928s.
I also like it better with it's original stance. That lowered look just didn't seem right. A lot of cars do look better lowered, but Porsche is one of the few auto makers that get the look of their cars almost perfect right off the showroom floor.

Thanks Outpatient, I like it too.
I lowered it because the hot rod influence overtook me. I can't help it.
It's **** lucky that it didn't get flames if you ask me.
mmmm flames.
