I am really desperate!
System SPECS: DFI PB5V3+, AMD K6III 400, 128MB PC-100, 3dfx Voodoo3 2000 AGP, SBLive Value, 2 WD 20GB Expert HDs, 1 Creative 48x CD, HP8100 CD/RW, Modem Blaster 56 (ISA), Infocenter Scanner (SCSI), Altec Lansing ACS56 speakers. Running Win98SE - clean install.

I have tried dozens of times to get the DOS emulation to work on the SBLive value card. Even with the latest MB (VIA chipset) patches & SB drivers, even the Creative diagnostic s/w fails the 8-bit DMA tests (sounds like a small popping or scratching that repeats). Result, no DOS compatability, no DOS games. I only have a few games that still use DOS, but I really love them. Does anyone have any help!! I have disabled the emulation and at this point refuse to re-load Windows anymore to try to correct this.

DESPERATELY SEEKING ADVICE!!!!

I had that problem a while back. It was one of several I got after installing Webtv.
If I remember correctly, I checked for any conflicts in Device Manager and didn't find any.
Despite that, I removed the SB Live and another device using the same IRQ in Device Manager, rebooted and let windows reinstall it.
At the time, I had several problems with conflicting drivers, but I think that's what solved the sb live dos emulation.
