I've been having problems with lock ups on my new system. I started with an abit BE62 and a Step-Thermo P3/550 and Hercules Guillemot GeForce DDR/DVI. I've tried swapping the video card with a Viper V770. I've tried an Asus P3V4X, which I have in there now. I was having probs with the P3 & the Mem they sent me was wrong so I sent those back & put in my old P2/333 & 128Meg of 66Mhz RAM. Using the GeForce and have unplugged an old hard drive I have int here as a second drive. Both HD's are WD's main is 22.7G and 2nd is 8G. Lock ups stopped when I first unplugged the 8G but have since returned. Always when playing games. I've dloaded the new 6.16 drivers from Nvidia but have not installed them yet. I'm out of ideas on what to try to solve this problem. I've updated BIOS on both MB's and re-formatted the Primary HD and re-installed everything when I put the MB's in for the first time. If any of you can think of anything else to try please let me know.

Thank you

the Abit BE6-2 board sometimes is picky about which slot the various cards are in. Try moving them around and see what happens. This board is usually pretty stable once you get things right on it.

Pay close attention to PCI slot 3 and 5, they share IRQ signals. PCI slot 3 shares IRQ signals with HPT66 IDE controller that is on your BE6-2 M/B. Avoid using sound cards in those slots.

Actually at the moment I'm using the Asus P3V4X. I think one of my HD's is causing the lock ups. It's a Western Digital 27G Ultra DMA/66 drive. Any suggestions on replacement drives? Or solutions for this drive?
