If I want to edit same I will use the File, Open or Add function of the individual programs. Get into folder options and File Types tab. Hit "j" on your keyboard and this will move the list down to the "J's" in the list. Look for jpeg and click on it one time to highlight and then hit edit. In the Actions window click on Open. Now click Edit. Here is my panel: http://www.geocities.com/a3a17013/sysopt_graphics/jpgfiletype.gif In the "Application used to perform action:" slot, this is what it reads since you can't see the whole text. "C:\PROGRA~1\INTERN~1\iexplore.exe" -nohome You can swipe that text and paste it in the slot. The -nohome will open Internet Explorer in full screen if you always close I.E. with a full screen view. Note: This does not work with your Favorites menu or with additional links from current web pages. It does work with a Windows folder full of your favorite pictures set for thumbnail view and when you open one of the pic's they will come up in full screen view. You can also remove the checkmark from "Confirm open" in the panel before this one on your way out. Now you have a viewer. Cheers! You can setup .gif's to have the same settings for the File Types as well. Go to start -> Find -> Files or Folders... and do a search of *.vbs If you find any, its more than likely a virus. Beemers 08-23-2000, 09:57 PM *.vbs is just a Visual Basic Script file. Don't delete any of them until you know what they are for. I have 6 of them and they are all confirmed. OuTpaTienT 08-24-2000, 09:13 AM Actually, "more than likely" any .VBS files are NOT viruses. I have tons on my system, many of which I wrote myself. They're just script files. About the equivalent of a batch file in DOS. CujoRbd 08-24-2000, 01:55 PM by the way, the "I love you" virus was written in a ".VBA" file anyway, which is another form of a VB script. so don't go deleting any files, unless you can confirm that it is a virus. i'm not sure how you have it set, but i recommend (and use) using Irfan View. I believe the latest version is 3.21. it is readily available at ZDNet.com (http://www.zdnet.com/downloads), or directly right here (http://www.zdnet.com/downloads/stories/info/0,,000ABJ,.html). it's a GREAT program for opening media of all sorts, but especially pics. to set it as the default viewer, simply open it up and click the 'Options' menu and select "Properties". then go over to the 'Extensions' tab and select the files you want to associate it with. well, i hope this helped.
