I have Win98se with my kids computer hooked to mine through Network Neighborhood (for the ICS) I have been able to get the kids computer to boot with the password filling itself in by using tweakIU but for some reason my computer will only rarely self boot. I have heard that if I change the primary logon to Windows logon instead of Client for Microsoft networks that it will work but I don't want to mess with my network. Any suggestions?

go start-> find-> files or folders.
on 'named' type '*.PWL' and 'look in' change to the 'C:' drive. hit find now. either delete them to the recycle bin or rename the .pwl extension to .old or something clever. then reboot. when the windows login comes up DON'T enter a password (only a user name which should already be there), and click OK. this will establish the password as no password (since you didn't type one). the next time you boot it should go straight in.

not sure off hand if this'll work w/the primary network login set to client for msnetworks... you may need to change the login to the windows login. this should not have a negative impact on your network, but worst case scenario if it does you can just change it back.

WARNING: the .pwl file is a 'password list,' and contains any passwords you have saved by clicking 'save password.' before doing this make certain you know what your saved passwords are.
