What is your opinion of the best digital camera currently on the market in terms of features such as memory, interface, etc. and why?

My pick is the Casio QV3000Plus, because it is a 3.34 mega pixel camera that uses a 340MB IBM Microdrive, which can hold 2048 x 1536-pixel images (about 245 of them!) in JPG format, and can make AVI movies too. Connects on USB or CompactFlash card.
Unfortunately, what stops me from getting it is it's hefty $1000 price tag.

For the budget conscious, the Olympus D-360L is currently $300. It features a 1280 x 960 max resolution, 2x zoom, and 8MB memory (Smart Media memory card).

Additional upgrades:
16 MB Smart Media memory card $40
Floppy Disk Adapter $80

I'm considering the Sony CD1000 ~ it's like the FD95 but writes to a mini CDR.

I have a Olympus D-360L and I love it. It has good picture quality and features at a good price. I posted a pic of my dog here somewhere. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

I was seriously looking into the Olympus, but decided to go with the slightly pricier Kodak DC280 because of their reputation for good products... peace of mind goes a long way for me...

For a long time, I was considering one of those Sony Mavicas. But then I saw that same Olympus D-360L in this week's Staples ad. $300, and you can add the floppy disk adapter (perfect since all my slots are filled, no USB support). Or I could the same features in a Mavica for twice the price! Hmmmm.
