Suggestions on a new bike

I want to start riding again after a 20 yr hiatus. Any recommendations on a good bike? Price below $150 and I'll be riding mainly on the roads. Links to be review sites will also be appreciated.

I like Trek (http://www.trekbikes.com) .. I started on a Trek 1200, upgraded to a Trek 2300, and am now riding 150+ miles a week on a Trek 5200. You could very likely find a used one (road or mountain) in your price range.

I have biked quite a bit, and the two brands that I like the most are GIANT and SPECIALIZED. I currently own a Specialized StumpJumper and love it. some of their new models are so bad ***** looking!

I like my Raleigh M60 (http://www.bicycleworldrgv.com/raleigh_m60.htm) (didn't try many others). Like Scott suggested, finding a used one in your price range is very feasible.

Hybrids are great for on- or off-road.

How good are schwinn bikes and is there any point in getting a hybrid bike or just stick with a pure road bike? Thanks again
