Yesterday I found an unusual printed letter on my coffee table, it was writen by my 7.5-year old daughter using her computer and MS Word. The font was very large, and the short paragraph took up the whole page.

So I started to read it, expecting a cute little story and was dumbfounded by the time I finished - I had to read it several times just to be sure what I was reading was actually on the paper. I asked her about it and she said that it was her idea and was done without anyone's help.

I give you what I saw:

"My mom and dad are so nice to me. Also
my teacher is nice to me too. My friends
are nice to me too. I thank them each
day. My parents are nice to me because I
am their daughter and they love me. My
teacher is nice to me because well she is.
My friends are nice to me because I'm
their friend and we help each other. My
life is nice. And so is the world. Life is
tuff but life is worth it. Do you
remember a time when you just wanted
to die? Well now that we've learned a lot
do you think it's still worth it? No way!
Life has precious moments and sad
moments. Sometimes do you feel like
you might burst of anger? Don't feel like
that you know that life has some good in
it.

Love, Terra"

I want her to be just a goofy, happy-go-lucky kid - she just gets too deep sometimes.

Terra will be in 3rd grade in the fall, for the record, her most recent Stanford 9 tests score gave her a "phs" in language skills - I've been told that means "post high school"

You have every reason to be a proud papa with Terra, CMonster. She's quite an awesome little girl.

Children learn from what they observe around them; what I know is she has some of the best role models around. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif

Your doing a good job Cm. I feel pride and happiness for you! http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
It's tough, really tough to be a parent. Most of the time thankless but this sort of thing makes it all ok, and great huh? To be validated. Her outlook on life is a result of you and your wifes parenting skills and patience.
The toughest job you've ever had, and you just got an outstanding review. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

What a wonderful little lady.

Reminds me of my three year old niece. With both are outstreched and palms up she says: "Whats the worst that can happen?"

Dam, that's better than most of the people I went to highschool with. I'm over 10 years her senior and I couldn't write that. I'd say that's too good for the fridge door, put it on the side of the T.V http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
