With all this talk about Microsoft being the bigest monopoly, we've failed to notice all the other companies as well.. For example

AOL is the internet Monopoly
Nvidia is the Video Card Monopoly "Why them?"

They bought 3DFX, and then stopped supporting the card's. Well they did as far as I know. Haven't been paying too much attention to that. If thats not a monopoly then what is? That would be like Mircosoft buying over Netscape. And then geting rid of the browser.

I had a few others, but can't remember, what are your opinions?

NvIDA is NOT a monopoly. Ever heard of ATI?
www.ati.com (http://www.ati.com)

They snached the PCWORLD award.

Microsoft needs to be beaten over the head with a flaming 2x4 smeared with *well, you know*. They screwed up windows soooooo bad....

Ditto AOL, except they charge $5000000000000000000000 (edited) a second instead.
PS. They are not a monopoly. Cable and DSL are competitors, right?

Worldcom *would* be a monopoly had they merged with sprint. O well, and I am *STILL* losing money on them (stockwise).

(Deleted some zeros so the thread wouldn't scroll horizontally)

AOL might be a monopoly in the states, fortunately we don't have that problem here.
Creative might be a monopoly, they bought aureal. Think everyone goes soundblaster these days. Excluding integrated audio chips (yamaha, ess) and terratec (think this one is mentioned for some more serious guys.)
But, so what if it's monopoly as long as it doesn't abuse it's position =)
