I added "Data Storage" and "Programming and Web Development". I took out the brainstorming forum -- some people were using it as it was intended, but most people were posting tech support questions there. If you had a thread in brainstorming, it's probably in general tech or tech support now.

Make that 3 new forums. Benchmarking has just been added too.
... and the Networking Forum has been renamed to "Networking and Internet".
I like it http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
<EDIT> ... thought I saw it first, but Socal beat me to it. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif

Actually, I kinda liked that Brainstorming forum. Of course, I used it for what it was intended for.
I am, however, glad to see those other new ones. They should come in very handy (if we can just get the related threads moved...just kidding, although that would be helpful if possible).
Keep up the good work Scott!

OK now this is just my opinion, but I think there are too many forum topics that seem to overlap.
I trully see no distinction between General Tech and Tech Support.
Also between CPU's and Overclocking and Benchmarking.
Networking and Internet, Programming and Web Development -- I would do Networking, Programming, Web development and Internet.
Data Storage I would leave that to General and Tech support.
I like the diverse topics, but too much diversity will lead to more of the "Posting to the correct Forums syndrome" and it makes it awfully tough for me (or a newbie) to see all the stuff without clicking through all discusion topics. I just think it should be a bit more streamlined.

Too many forum topics? I know (seriously) a forum that has 72 forum topics, for less than 6000 members. I'm not registered there, but it must be really hard to figure out where the topic should go. Or really easy, because there are always 5 forums with the same topic http://www.sysopt.com/forum/biggrin.gif . The 12 year old moderators don't have a clue either where the topics should be, so they don't even bother moving them.
Compared to other BB's, SysOpt doesn't have a lot of forums. Certainly for the number of members and posts this forum has. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

"I'm not registered there, but it must be really hard to figure out where the topic should go"
I hear you Barney and that's why...
I think Sysopt is not like any other other forums. And redundancy will only create more confusion and less answers to questions.
Just my opinion http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
Mntsnow and Socalgal do an incredibly wonderful job, If I were in their shoes it would seem very tough to moderate all the new forum topics. And all the off topic post's.

I like the new forums! Nice addition (although I'm pretty sure the benchmarking one will turn into a bragging section http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif But hey! If I had a PC I could really brag about I'm sure I'd be over their whooping it up with the others! lol
Now all we need to do is get the new forums moving!

Oh! I liked the brainstorming forum - when there was actually a brainstorming topic in there! I don't know why people had to go and post general sort of questions in it and now its gone!

If you want a discussion board with a lot of forums, try the Novell support forums.
I still miss the brainstorming forum. I haven't been able to find anything that was posted there. It is still here somewhere, right, Scott?
