Much has been written about the need to use a large, high quality power supply in an Athlon system due to the high power consumption of the Athlon processor.

Does the Thunderbird processor have the same power requirement as the Athlon, or is it more efficient??

Just curious if I need to budget for a larger power supply if I decide to upgrade from my Celeron to a T-bird. (currently using a generic 250W supply)

it will more than likly run on it but i sugest that you get a 300 watt AMD approved power supply as in the lond run it may do some harm to your mobo and cpu i got two Athlons one one 250 watt and one on 351 watt Athlon approved the 250 will not overclock any were as good as the 351 doe's i can get the 351 up the 1155 Mhz and the 250 will only got to 875 Mhz and both are the same cpu Athlon 750 Tbirds Slot A's on a Asus K7M mobo's

I hope this will help you out on you upgrade to the AMD world
