Hi,
does anyone know if the kernel process should run at 100% all the time? I have an MSI K7pro w/ an Athalon 650. Please advise. Thanks.

Don't think so, have you ran the disk clean-up, scandisk, and defrag?
What's the o/s?
Win98? shut down some non-essential programs in msconfig.
Are you trying to run multiple background programs at once?
Like some huge paint, or office, while surfing and printing?
just a guess. let us know.

Hi,
It was the Norton's AV autoprotect causing the problem. When I ctrl-alt-del and shut down navapw32 it released control of the processor. I guess there was a problem with one of the shared DLL's. I uninstalled NAV and did a clean install. Seems to be ok now. Thanks for the help.
